The Plastic Art Show Competition
At every ALX Dog Walk event, we host a Plastic Art Show Competition where we invite artists from the District, MD, or VA MV to register for free to submit works of art to an arts competition – the creative twist – all artwork must use primarily plastic materials, such as bottles, caps, cups, bags, buttons, plastic fabrics, etc. Eligible participants must be at least 18 years old.
Artwork is judged and displayed at the event, and cash prizes awarded. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase creativity and support for plastic-free and sustainable living.
We were honored to welcome The Art League of Alexandria and The Alexandria Arts Alliance as partners for the 2026 Plastic Art Show. A representative from each organization served on the judging panel. Collaborating with community organizations helps us reach new audiences and advance our educational mission – we love #artactivism!
Founded in 1954, The Art League, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational nonprofit organization. The League is a multifaceted visual arts organization that meets its mission through its gallery, fine art school, art supply store, and arts outreach programs.
The Alliance supports the local cultural landscape in Alexandria, VA and fosters a welcoming atmosphere, establishing connections between artists, city leaders, partners, and decision-makers. It strives to sustain a transparent, inclusive, and empowering community that prioritizes artistic expression and engagement.
