At the ALX Dog Walk next April 5, 2025, we’re launching the first-ever Plastic Art Competition in the DMV with cash prize awards: First Place: $1,000; Second Place: $500; Third Place: $250.
THE TWISTED FUN! Artists are challenged to create a work of art using primarily reused plastic materials like bottles, caps, cups, bags, buttons, plastic fabrics, straws, and more. To qualify, artists must be a resident of D.C., MD, or VA & 18 years or older, and photos of completed artwork must be submitted by 3/1/2025 to: plasticart@alxdogwalk.com
In early March, we will reach out to all artists who entered into the competition with the details of exactly where in Oronoco Bay Park artwork will be featured and the agenda for the morning.
Reps from ALX Dog Walk, Plastic Pollution Coalition, and Sustainability Matters will judge the works of art, and winners will be announced at the event. Artists can host a free table at the event to showcase and sell their artwork or we will showcase your artwork entry for you.
