Every year at our annual 2k dog walk event, we feature the Spring2ACTion Nonprofit Village where numerous impactful local organizations host tables to connect with the community and share valuable resources about philanthropy in and around Alexandria.
Even more impressive, these nonprofits make an effort to learn about hosting plastic-free event tables – the billion dollar events industry produces billions of plastic items that cannot be recycled.
At the ALX Dog Walk, we believe in the power of community engagement.
Explore our FREE Plastic-Free Event Toolkit and gather ideas for how to make your events more plastic-free and sustainable.
The nonprofit village at the ALX Dog Walk is a beautiful reflection of our community. I love stopping by each table, talking with staff, and learning about the needs around us—from mental health support, to scholarships for immigrant teens, baking programs for underserved women, and care and housing for abandoned cats. These conversations are a meaningful reminder of why I serve my community and support Spring2Action. I’m proud to be an Alexandrian.
