Every April during Earth Month, we bring people and pups together for the region’s biggest and barkiest dog walk and sustainability celebration. But that’s just the beginning. With the funds raised, we take the movement further—hosting grassroots education tables year-round, offering hands-on experiences with plastic-free products and sustainable ideas.
And guess what? When we show up in the community, people stop. They engage. They ask questions. Because when they can see and touch the alternatives to single-use plastic they’ve relied on for years, it sparks something. You can see the shift in real time:
“Wait, this exists? Why didn’t I know about this?”
We’re not just sharing facts—we’re helping people unlearn the throwaway culture they’ve been handed and re-learn how to live with intention. One reusable bottle. One beeswax wrap. One loofah sponge at a time.
People want change—they just need someone to show them how. That’s why we need more micro-marketers—nonprofits, educators, influencers, community groups—willing to pop up at farmers markets, school fairs, dog walks (like ours!), and festivals to show people a better way.
And to the startups out there: Are you paying attention? Grassroots educators are your biggest secret weapon. We are the ones introducing your compostable bags, refillable cleaning bottles, and plant-based sponges to real consumers, face to face. Don’t overlook the power of people talking to people.
